CARES believes that by educating CAH patients, families, medical professionals, and the general public, we increase our ability to raise awareness of what is considered a rare disease. Our education programs strive to define congenital adrenal hyperplasia as well as its many clinical presentations.
CAH EDUCATION CONFERENCES FOR PATIENTS, FAMILIES/CAREGIVERS, & MEDICAL PROFESSIONALS
Conferences are generally held annually and the location varies from midwest, northeast and west coast. We hope to include as many new patients as possible. We try to offer sessions on both Classical and Non-classical CAH, as well as sessions that appeal to different age groups and genders. Our last two conferences were digital and many community members preferred this format. There was still time committed to Question and Answer segments and people were able to join from all over the world without the added expense of travel. We are investigating maintaining this format for future conferences. Please check out What’s Happening Now page and/or Events page for any upcoming conference dates.
CARES CONNECTIONS: the CARES Foundation newsletter
CARES CONNECTIONS is our newsletter which is currently being produced bi-annually with Spring and Fall issues. We include education topics as well as research and clinical trial/study info, a message from our medical director, and often personal stories from those living with or somehow affected by CAH. Visit our Newsletter Archives page for all released newsletters dating back all the way to 2001.
CAH MASTER CLASSES
In June of 2021, in honor of CAH Awareness Month, CARES hosted a series of Master Classes. These Zoom sessions were on various CAH topics led by experts in the field. You can access those recordings here.
