Children: Growth and Puberty--A Parents’ Guide

By Ze’ev Hochberg. M.D., D.Sc.

Early puberty and sub-optimal growth are common medical issues confronting children with all forms of congenital adrenal hyperplasia. Many parents will be called upon to consider delaying puberty with drugs and/or boosting growth with growth hormones. Dr. Hochberg’s book explains growth and puberty in language that is easy for laymen to understand. This book, while it only touches very briefly on CAH, explains the various factors that create impediments to optimal growth in children and the causes of early puberty. As a parent now confronting medical intervention in these areas for my daughter with non-classical CAH, I found the book very helpful in understanding the growth process and its interrelationship to puberty. I feel better prepared to make an educated decision on these therapies for my daughter.

This book is available through the web site, www.1stbooks.com as an electronic book for $4.95 or in paperback for $16.50.
